Giving back: One new tree is planted for every mantel sold!

HGTV House Hunters Renovation

Posted by

In January 2018 we received a phone call from a contractor explaining that he was renovating a house for an episode of House Hunters Renovation on HGTV and wanted to come check out our showroom and workshop.  He saw that we specialize in reclaimed wood beam mantels and was looking for a custom L shaped mantel for this project.  Being huge fans of HGTV we were excited at the opportunity. Will Vogt of Crescent Canyon Construction came out and spent a couple hours touring our shop, talking to us, and explaining the show and the project. We created samples of various finishes for the client to review and she came out to see our full mantel samples in person.

The order was placed and we made the L shaped mantel custom to their rustic level, size, and finish with a miter cut.  A beam wrap was stained and finished to match the mantel. We delivered the project on day they were shooting for the show, all prepared in case they wanted to film us delivering it.  Ultimately they had the contractors carry it in while we hid in the front yard.  We stayed to assist with the installation and watched them film. In July 2018, the episode aired called "The Renovation Surprise".

We are beyond pleased with the way it came out.  The client talked about wanting a mantel in each house they toured and at the end of the episode featured our mantel and said "The fireplace and mantel are the centerpiece of the house". We couldn't agree more.
